    Charlotte Hamaoui

    Charlotte Hamaoui is the founder and Managing Director of Turning Point, a boutique publishing house, operating from Beirut since 1999. During the last twenty years Turning Point has published an array of best-selling guides, photography books, novels, poetry and lifestyle books in English with a Lebanese/Middle Eastern theme as well as a diverse range of high-quality Arabic children’s books.

    British born Charlotte Hamaoui has been living in Lebanon with her husband and two children since 1995. She has a Master’s degree in Geography from Cambridge University and an Executive MBA from ESA/ESCP. She has followed several Publishing Training Center residential and online courses, as a way to continually update her industry skills.

    Amal Farah

    Amal Farah is an author, poet, literary consultant, journalist and editor. She is the founder of Shagara Publishing House for children’s books. Farah has authored numerous books including Different and Very Ordinary, The Kangaroo, and The Invisible. She has worked as a Managing Editor for many children’s magazines, including Disney’s Mickey Mouse magazine and National Geographic for Youth in Arabic since 2003. She has also written children’s films and lyrics for songs used in television in film. Farah has received several awards for her writing, including the UNESCO International Prize for children’s literature. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic literature from Cairo University.

    Sarah Odedina

    Sarah Odedina has worked in the world of publishing for more than 30 years and for most of that time has concentrated on the world of literature for children. She was Publisher at Bloomsbury for 14 years during which time she oversaw the publication of the hugely successful Harry Potter series as well as edited and published such worldwide best-selling authors as Neil Gaiman, Louis Sachar, Celia Rees, and Debi Gliori. Sarah started the children's list Hot Key Books and for the last four years has been Editor-at-Large for Pushkin Press where she is publishing an award-winning list of authors. Sarah also publishes the children's magazine SCOOP which is a bi-monthly magazine for readers aged 8 to 12 packed full of great things to read and look at. Sarah is a Director of the newly launched Accord Literary which aims to mentor and develop writers for young readers based on the African continent.
